3 reasons to publish an e-newsletter AND a blog (revised & updated)

By Debbie Weil

Trying to explain how a blog relates to both an e-newsletter and a Web site is an iterative process. I've been working on it for over a year. Recently I revisited an article I wrote several months ago.

I added to and clarified the key points. To wit: a blog can be just another page on your Web site. It can also be a daily or weekly update that you "push" to subscribers, much like you send an e-newsletter.

Read on for an explanation and for three solid reasons you should be communicating to customers, prospects or members with BOTH a blog and an ezine or e-newsletter.

Updated list of resources for business blogging at the end.

I've been asked to speak on a panel at the Digital Media Conference in D.C. on Friday, June 18th.

As a perk, they're giving me one free ticket (value $395) to this all-day event. The conference features speakers from WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive, AOL, Discovery and other big local media companies. It covers everything from digital rights management to games, music, video, radio and wireless. Looks pretty interesting.
